5.30.11 ~ 150/365

30 May

Happy Memorial Day all!

It’s Memorial Day at the Jersey Shore- the “unofficial start of summer” here in NJ. So what does a Jersey girl do? You’d think I’d be at the beach, but no way– the beach is now only visited on weekdays when all the bennies (our “slang” for visitors from the North) are at home at work. From now until Labor Day, we don’t leave our house on weekends- we “staycation” it at home!
After spending the weekend doing yardwork, opening the pool, cleaning the deck and planting our garden, I spent some downtime jumping on the trampoline!

B and I just came in from the boardwalk. It is ocean to bay full of bennies. I was glad to hear the youth spent the last school year mastering the English Language. Such colorful words! They should all be graduating with a English degree in no time at all. For the first time ever, we left the boardwalk before finishing our walk. 😦 I am hoping when the school year ends, the boards will be full of families again. Thanks MTV and “Jersey Shore”.

LOVE this shot. We’re thinking of getting the kids a trampoline since we finally have room in the backyard for one. Is there one kind over another that you recommend? We live in a tourist town too. I didn’t leave home until late this afternoon to finally go run an errand; spent the rest of the weekend right here at home where it was quite with no traffic. I’ll go to the river and/or the water park during the week when it is much quieter!
