8.26.11 ~ 238/365

27 Aug

As I’m sure you’ve heard on the news, there’s a fairly dangerous hurricane coming up the East Coast this weekend. New Jersey isn’t exactly known to be “hurricane-ready” so the past few days have been spent getting ready. We’ve filled up our cars with gas, tied down everything in the yard, bought food/water/plywood/and other various “necessities”. We haven’t been officially evacuated yet, as of now it’s just voluntary, but we’ve all packed an overnight bag just in case.

I had higher hopes for today’s picture, but when it’s almost 9pm and you still have lots to do, a crap-tastic phone picture looking into your box of batteries/flashlights that have been assembled for this weekend is all you’re going to get!

Do you have any idea what you could be selling those D batteries for? There isn’t one to be had anywhere along the eastern coast line. An emergency supply truck was scheduled to arrive this afternoon, packed with flashlights, batteries, tarps, duck tape, water, etc… but with the shut down of the GSP the truck can’t get here. So now I don’t know if shutting it down was such a good idea.

But I’m just wondering ~ do you think they could shut it down every Friday night during the summer!! I really like that idea!!

I’m glad you are prepared. Be safe.

It’s all good! Stay safe up there… I’m hoping she blows out before she hits your area… hoping she keeps weakening! It seems we’re being spared from yet another big storm… not complaining. We’ll see rain, wind, and maybe some power outages, but only in medium risk area… at the moment anyway.
