Not the most “aesthetically pleasing” picture, but a cool one (at least I think so!) nonetheless. One of my favorite hobbies is fused glass. I take pieces of glass in different colors and cut it down and stack it up to make necklace pendants. The stacked glass is placed in my kiln and fired for about 3 hours at temperatures reaching 1700 degrees, which results in the pieces melting, or fusing together. My picture today is of some glass I made last night…this was taken right after the kiln was turned off…so the glass is literally molten and glowing at 1700 degrees. It’s not the world’s greatest picture because as I lift the lid I’m blasted with intense heat…I only have a second or two to snap the shot before I get burned!
