Still Standing

08 Sep

All day today, all you heard on the news was warnings about a severe storm that was going to take over the state tonight.  We were under tornado warnings, hurricane force winds, rain, hail and “frequend cloud to ground lightning”, so why was I surprised to receive a text at dinnertime from Phriend simply stating “wanna go take some pictures?”…. I half jokingly replied with “are you nuts”, but we all know within minutes I was up packing up my camera bag, tripod and sweatshirt.  We headed down to an old abandoned fishing shack on the bay to capture the storm moving in across the bay.  Unforuntately, even with a tripod, the winds were so strong that we couldn’t get a tack sharp picture.  Honestly, I prefer to call this look “dreamy”….

(the red in the sky was caused from the lights of Atlantic City in the distance reflecting off of the clouds)

You two are quite adventurous! Always worth the challenge I am sure. Glad you were able to hold onto your equipment. Nice!

Storm photos are one of my faves. This was totally worth it to run out and shoot for a bit.
