Welcome to my 365 project! I decided to do this project as a way to broaden my photography horizons, and improve my skills.
A little background-
I’ve been interested in photography since I was young. I guess you could say I was more into cameras then photography at that age, but nevertheless, I loved taking pictures. My mom said it is in my blood– both her and my dad had SLR’s when I was young, and I have a few relatives who always had to have the “latest and greatest”. At the age of 4, I was given my first camera, and proceeded to document everything around me– a sponge lying in the middle of the driveway, my stuffed animals posed on the couch (there was a lot of those pictures!) and after my sister was born- her. My mom dutifully developed all these strange rolls of film, and I still have them to this day!
Fast forward about 10 years— I’m a pre-teen– doing pre-teen things (lots of shopping, school activities, etc), and I’m the only one of my friends who has their camera in their purse rather than a bag of makeup (and the same holds true today 15 years later!).
In college (2002), I took my first photography course and was introduced to the world of the manual setting. I used my mom’s old SLR camera, and remember being thoroughly confused by all these terms my professor was talking about. Needless to say, I plugged along, somehow passed the class, and went out and bought a better digital camera (which were just coming out at the time). Four years later, I recieved my first DSLR for my college graduation gift, and I’ve never looked back.
Over the past year, I’ve re-discovered my love of manual photography. Sure, I still carry a small point and shoot in my purse (and there’s still no makeup in there….), but the DSLR just offers so much more in terms of quality and creativity. In the interest of making my crafts look better for my other blog (www.sewin2disney.wordpress.com) I set out to really learn how to use my camera.
That leads us up to now. I started this blog to push myself creatively and to learn as much as I can about my camera. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the ride!

-I love ice cream
-I can’t live without my ‘tech’ gadgets (iPhone, iPod, computer, Wii, DS, etc)
-I rock out to 80’s music and country music
-I have a massive bucket list
-I love roadside America/curious oddities on the side of the road
-Thrift stores and Goodwill are my ‘go-to’ clothing stores
-I collect Mr. Potato Head and have a 5,000 piece collection
-I can’t sit still very long
